Caviar Servings Tips

Caviar should be placed in the coldest section of your refrigerator, NOT frozen.

Unopened fresh caviar will last 2-3 weeks, but once opened should be eaten right away.

If caviar is left in the tin, surface should covered with plastic wrap directly on surface of eggs, lid put back on and stored in refrigerator.

Caviar should be served with non-metallic spoon usually mother of pearl, bone or horn.

To serve caviar place tin/jar directly on top of crushed ice in a caviar server of crystal dish.

Use plain white (thin) bread toasted (crusts removed), unsalted butter or petit toast or blinis.

Typical garnishes are: Lemon, white onion, chopped qegg  

Frozen Vodka or Champagne are the two most popular beverages.

Caviar can be served with:

Carved out red skin potatoes, filled with sour cream or crème fraiche and top with caviar.

Toss a bowl of angel hair pasta with crème fraiche and put caviar on the pasta at time of serving.

Bagels, cream cheese and caviar for brunch.

Top scrambled eggs with caviar.

Top broiled oysters or clams with caviar.

Use caviar to garnish cold soups.

Baked potato, sour cream & topped with caviar.
